All our projects are like fabulous expeditions. The story of each project is unique. Our projects have no precedent. – Christo
Hello my lovelies,
I love the quote by Christo I have chosen above. Each project really does tell a different story. We explore our goals, our motivations, and hopes all based on ideas and what we hope to accomplish. I find each project a journey, an inspiration.
So today, I thought I’d share with you a quick read on the current projects I’m working on.
Anthology
The initial idea for an anthology of my health experiences came last year. I so loved doing my verse memoir and I wanted a new challenge for this year. The motivation was to try and put together a collection of my experiences to help others feel recognised alongside me. I doubt it will ever be published, I do love writing just for me. But after over 45 pieces of work, the first draft has been done, it has been shared with three people I know and love whom I would love to get their opinion of. It took me four months from conception to first draft.
It has been hard because there were days I wanted to do so much, and days I didn’t want to do any at all. So it took me time to plan well, and take it stage by stage and challenge myself artistically. When it came to it being digital, all typed up, I ended up doing an awful lot over a weekend. I am proud of it though. My hope is to have it personally bound as a copy for me.
Studies
As you may have guessed, I’m a lifelong learner. As per my about me, I have studied an awful lot. I’m currently in the midst of spiritual learning and knowledge on therapeutic tools. So far this year I have studied things like shadow work and CFT. I have completed a knowledge-based diploma on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and a meditation teacher diploma.
My initial aim was to do these kinds of courses out of interest, to have something more casual to focus on before I start my Masters Degree (which has had to be deferred). But I loved learning all these things and decided to learn more. It’s helped me explore myself and engage further. I’d love to be able to one day use all these tools in a life coach setting. Further on the list is mindful mental health, mindfulness based CBT and advanced shadow mastery.
Shadow Work
After completing the Shadow Mastery diploma I realised, despite my therapy, I had yet to face my own Shadow, my repressed self. I did this to heal me.
One thing to note is that Shadow work is continuous and lifelong but I want to get into the crux of everything. It takes time but what I have learned so far has been invaluable. I’m now able to see myself in a different perspective and really see where I need to give myself more attention and love. I am learning to embrace all of me.
From this I am seeing where parts of my conflicted nature comes from. I am finding a larger perspective and starting to see my wholeness in action. It’s a beautiful process. I’m still learning and only part way through a journal but it’s absolutely eye-opening. I was familiar with the psychological basis from Jung but to put it into action is fantastic. I may update you in a few months on how it’s going.
Mindful Guide
This has been a very new one for me. I only started it a few weeks ago to help with my volunteering. A guide was needed to help clients learn some mindfulness skills and easy meditations. So I have worked on a first draft, I’d love to expand the amount to keep it as accessible for all types of mindfulness practice.
So starting next week I’ll be making a “pretty” version which I hope to share at some point with you all when I am happy with it. I’m also going to delved further into mindful activity.
In the works…
For now, there are very few projects ongoing and I’m unsure of where the current ones will take me. I also think I need a bit of a break. So for now, awaiting feedback on my anthology, completing shadow work and creating a mindful guide as well as finishing up my studies will be more than enough for me!
Journal Prompt: Is there anything I would love to work on right now?
