Open letter reflection

Hello lovelies,

It is just me checking in. How did you find that?

I found it almost refreshing to write these letters, a way of awakening a sense of self, a nod to parts of me that I have accepted and still actively try to embrace. This is because, for a lot of the time, it can feel like so much of these aspects of me happen in one go and I drown in despair. But taking each one, recognising each part, makes me see that they are individuals like we are. They have their own needs and wants and I have learned so much about how they impact me upon reflection. Reflection is key for me to see just how I see them. They are not my enemy, they are my trauma responses acting as they were designed. This is my new realisation.

Out of all of this I have still learned so much. So so much. I kept them short as I appreciate there were some heavy, sensitive topics. I don’t shy away from the very real and devastating impact they can have on me, but I also don’t want to shy away from what they have taught me about my world.

I appreciate your time in these last few weeks.

Journal prompt: Do you think you could pen a letter to an aspect of you? If so, why not try? It’s a great reflective tool.

Kindly, Leanne x
