About this blog
This blog is something that I hope will be kind to your mind. It is a sacred space to;
- consider personal thoughts,
- share experiences of health and wellbeing,
- explore spirituality,
- engage in literature talk from book chatter to creative writing.
- feel you are able to explore your own self.

This blog will feature a post on every Friday, some may be quick updates, others may be a long-read deep dive. This is just to get you thinking. I will place a lovely quote and journal prompt within each post, just in case what I write inspires you!
Also, you can sign up to a fortnightly newsletter from me with my highlights of the week, thoughts, more prompts, quotes and more.

Above all, I would love to speak to you all in what I hope will be a cosy community where we are kind to our mind.

About me
Hello!
I just wanted to do a little introduction to who I am, so we can get acquainted.
My name is Leanne, I currently reside in the North East of England. I am writing this blog because I hope to be able to have a safe, cosy space to explore my thoughts and feelings, hopefully inspire someone and empower anyone who reads here.
As a little introduction:

I love: the freedom of contentment, being cosy, a good book, inspiration for poetry, solitude, a good meditation session, the occasional pamper, a place to feel safe.
My favourite colour is yellow.
My favourite film is Hero directed by Zhang Yimou.
My favourite season is spring.
I am currently both spiritual and religious. I am a student of both Tibetan Buddhism and the Plum Village tradition. I also follow spiritualism. I am a qualified Crystal Healing Practitioner. I do divination in tarot readings and rune casting. I have also learned much about spiritual life coaching, journal therapy and compassion-focused techniques alongside having a sound knowledge on CBT.
My background
I am someone with a rich tapestry of a background. I have grown up in the same town my whole life, I come from a lineage of coalminers. I am the second in my family to earn an undergraduate degree (Psychology with Counselling) and aim to be the first to receive a Masters (Psychology).

I am someone who experiences severe mental illness, the primary diagnosis being Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder, I also experience Dissociative Amnesia and Recurrent Depression. Physically, I have Fibromyalgia and chronic pain in the spine. I also experience Functional Neurological Disorder and Non Epileptic Attack Disorder. I say this so you understand the perspective I may bring.

I am someone who has been involved in the mental health community since I was 17. I first started public speaking with Investing in Children, discussing the generalisation and desensitisation of children and young people’s experiences. I was on interview panels and reviewed facilities.
The real work, however, came from Time to Change as a Young Champion. I spoke publicly about my experiences of mental health stigma and normalising the experiences of my mental health, because it is common. I want my experiences to resonate with everyone possible. I became a passionate public speaker who can educate and empower. I also became a Regional Peer Leader and CYP advisory panel member.

It saw me attend a global summit and Downing Street. One day I hope to speak in Parliament.
Currently…
I am involved in three different charities focusing upon mental health advocacy, bereavement and resilience. I am enjoying connecting with others in all the various ways and am hoping to educate and empower once again.
My current studies are spiritual-based.
I am also currently occupying myself with meditative arts of calligraphy, reading and writing poetry.
So that’s the basics dearest lovelies. Let’s explore how to be kind to our mind…
